FAQs

Where can I test ride your electric bikes?

We serve the Black Hills of South Dakota. We're based in Hot Springs, SD, in Fall River County. You can come to our property for your test ride OR we'll bring our demo bikes to you!

I'm ready to buy - how do I  get my Lectric ebike from you?

That's easy. Just place your order with us, pay for your order, and your ebike will be shipped to your door.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, all major credit cards, and your good check. When your payment clears, we'll place your order with Lectric eBikes.

Why should I buy my Lectric ebike from you?

We're your neighbors. We're going to be here for a long time. Besides, you'll get personalized service AND 10% off every Lectric-branded accessory for life! We honor Lectric eBikes' sale prices and pass those savings directly to you.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you have to cancel or reschedule your test ride due to weather or any other reason, please give us 24 hours' notice before your reservation time. If we have to cancel or reschedule your test ride due to weather or any other reason, we'll rebook your appointment for our next available time slot and give you a free gift for your trouble!

What are your business hours? When can I book my test ride?

We're a family business operating out of our home; we try to accommodate your reasonable requests! Just call or text Kristy at 605-890-2488 or Ted at 970-397-9591. Generally, we are available on weekends and afternoons/evenings from 4:00 pm til 7:00 pm. You can expect to spend about 30-45 minutes with us - riding our test bikes, getting your questions answered, and placing your order!

I'd prefer to take my test ride at my house.

No problem! We'll bring our ebikes to you, as long as you're in a 100-mile radius of Hot Springs, SD. We'll accommodate all reasonable requests!

Do you sell ebikes other than Lectric eBikes?

At this time, we're exclusively a dealer/partner with affordable, versatile, and durable Lectric EBikes.

Where can I get my ebike serviced?

We recommend Acme Bicycles in Rapid City, SD. They're an authorized service partner with Lectric eBikes! Contact the fine folks at https://www.acmebicycles.com/

How old do I need to be to test ride or buy an ebike?

You must be 18 years or older. No exceptions. You'll need to sign a waiver, wear a helmet, and agree to ride our demo bikes with no distractions - no earbuds or conversations with other riders. We want your test ride to get you comfortable with our ebikes!

Do you honor military discounts?

Yes! We’re a military family, too! Eligible U.S. military members receive $50 off the purchase of a Lectric eBike through us. When you’re placing your order, we’ll quickly fill out an online form at the point of sale and unlock your discount code.

Do you rent ebikes?

At this time, we do not offer rentals. But never say never ;-)

Can I ride my ebike in the rain?

Although ebikes can withstand a little moistures, it's not a good idea to ride in the rain. If damage occurs, it could void your manufacturer's warranty.

What is the manufacturer's warranty?

Check https://lectricebikes.com/pages/lectric-ebikes-manufacturers-warranty.

Can I ride my ebike on trails?

Know before you go!  For example, the George S. Mickelson trail in the Black Hills of South Dakota allows Class 1 ebikes such as Lectric eBike's XP Trike2, but only with its throttle disabled (easily done through its settings). All biking trail rules apply to ebikes. Check alltrails.com/us before setting out on your adventure.

Do you take ebike trade-ins?

Although Hot Springs eWheels doesn't take trade-ins, you do have options when selling your ebike! You could sell your ebike on your own. Or you can contact Acme Bicycles in Rapid City, SD; they are an authorized Service Partner with Lectric eBikes. Call 605-343-9534 or text 605-674-6785.

Does the battery get charged as I ride my ebike?

No, there’s no trickle charge. Not to worry, Lectric eBikes get impressive miles per charge. For example, the XP4 can go up to 85 miles on a single charge; the XP Trike2 can go up to 50 miles; the XPeak 2.0 mountain bike can go up to 60 miles, etc. Of course, your mileage may vary! To get the most out of your battery life, pedaling in the lowest PAS (power-assist) setting would use the least amount of battery output. Consider purchasing the Lectric Fast Charger from us (and get 10% off its already low price). It’s compatible with the Lectric XP4, XPedition 2.0, XPeak 2.0, and XP Trike2. It can recharge these ebikes’ batteries within 1 to 4 hours using 5A amperage. Now that’s fast!

What kind of helmet should I wear while ebiking?

Look for a helmet with an integrated Mips safety system. Mips stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System. Mips isn’t just an acronym; it’s the company that manufactures the Mips safety system. According to mipsprotection.com, Mips is a safety technology developed with the intention of reducing rotational motion to the brain in the event of a crash. Research indicates that rotational motion poses a higher risk of brain injury compared to direct impacts.

What accessories should I order for my electric bike?

We recommend several! First off, protect your ebike from thieves with the Lectric Bike Lock. It's sturdy, it's practically theft-proof, and you can attach its carrier to your ebike's frame for easy access. Secondly, you'll want to protect your ebike from the elements. Here in the Black Hills of South Dakota, we've got wind, dust, rain, and hail - and that's just in the summer! We highly recommend getting the Lectric Bike Cover - one size fits all Lectric ebikes. When you purchase your Lectric eBike from us, you'll get 10% off all Lectric-branded accessories today and forever after. Save money, protect your investment, and enjoy your freedom - with Hot Springs eWheels!
